DREW NUGENT AND THE MIDNIGHT SOCIETY  {www.drewnugent.com}

The “bee’s knees” doesn’t even begin to describe Drew Nugent & The Midnight Society! Playing in any venue from collegiate dances to the back alley speakeasies, these boys get the joint jumpin’! They have, under Drew’s leadership, become the hottest hot band on any bandstand in all the land.

At the tender age of seven, Drew’s mom and dad bought him a piano and when he laid eyes on it, his fate was sealed. At 14, he witnessed the Ken Burns Jazz Series on PBS and became enthralled with the early jazz scene from the turn of the century to the early 30s. By age 15 he was completely under the spell of Louis Armstrong and Bix Beiderbecke, igniting his passion to be a trumpet player and jazz singer. Simultaneously, Drew was also turned onto the piano playing of greats like Fats Waller, Jelly Roll Morton, Earl Hines, Willie “The Lion” Smith and others. Needless to say, he began switching over from Ragtime to Stride.

Drew began leading bands at the end of college. With a slight detour on the steamboats of the Mighty Mississippi. The Midnight Society came to being two years ago. Slowly but surely, the pieces of the puzzle began to come together with a few club dates and dances here and there, now here they are appearing up and down the east coast! The Midnight Society name is now the definition of Hot Jazz!
