Reisling, Betts & Scholl, Eden Valley, Australia, 2007
A surprising and rewarding Reisling. Blend of citrus, lime blossom and apricot notes with machine oil notes on the nose. In the mouth this is quite rich yet very acid driven and dry. Starts with a rather grapefruit attack that is cut by assertive, mouthwatering mineral tones before yielding to a lime cream note on the finish that picks up the inherent sweetness of the grape. Long, lingering earthy finish.
Chardonnay, Shea Wine Cellars, Wilamette Valley, Oregon, 2007
